Get LONG, HEALTHY, natural hair with these TIPS!
Are you tired of having short hair? Have you tried so much products that you're convinced your hair can't grow? Well, this list is for you. If you do this just right, you will have long, healthy hair in no time. Try inserting these tips into your hair care routine now:
1) EAT RIGHT

I know that pizza might taste amazing or maybe that fries hits the spot but you might want to limit your intake on these foods if you want to grow your hair longer and healthier. After all, taking care of yourself from the inside is the key to look a lot more beautiful on the outside. Start eating more dark leafy green vegetables and colorful fruits. Also, eat (in moderation) protein rich foods such as: fish and chicken breast.
2) DRINK A LOT OF WATER

Water is equal to moisture which is just what you need for healthier hair. When your hair is dry it cannot retain length, instead it breaks off so it appears as if your hair is not growing. Your hair will feel dry and look dull and lifeless. What better way to moisturize your hair than drinking water. Your body puts out what you put in. Think about drinking water like watering plants; you pour water at the roots and it is absorbed into the leaves making it bright, green and flourishing. It is recommended to drink eight cups of water a day. This is enough to get your hair thriving.
3) WEAR A SATIN BONNET/SCARF

Wear a satin bonnet or scarf to bed. Wearing a satin scarf or bonnet to bed can prevent your hair from losing moisture. Cotton pillow cases or sheets may absorb the moisture from your hair. Satin does not absorb moisture, it instead keeps it in. It can also prevent your hair from breaking off as a result of rough fabric, it also protects your edges from being snatched! You do not want to be walking around with bald edges. Alopecia is not nice. Prevent with a satin cap or scarf OR you can make a satin pillowcase if you are like me and hate putting anything on your head.
4) DEEP CONDITION!
Deep conditioning you hair is very important; it is the key to healthier hair and healthier hair means longer hair. Deep conditioning your hair can repair it of damage and add moisture. Try using a store-bought deep conditioner or even making your own.
I recommend:
i) Shea moisture's deep treatment masque
ii) Eden Body Works All Natural Deep Conditioner
iii) Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
5) TRIM YOUR HAIR

Trim your hair to get rid of split, dead (damaged) ends. There is no product that can repair your damaged ends, so you must trim them if you want healthier ends. Keeping those damaged ends will just cause a lot of breakage which will make it seem as if your hair is not growing. When you trim your hair please use those scissors for hair ONLY. If you use those scissors to do other things like cutting paper, the scissors may become dull. As a result, when you use it on your hair it may cause split ends. Use sharps scissors.
6) MOISTURIZE
As I mentioned earlier, moisturizing your hair makes your hair a lot healthier. Find out your hairs porosity to know the right products to use when moisturizing your hair. This will help to decide if you need heavy products, light products or your hair probably loves both. Find out what your hair loves by experimenting with products. Make sure to use water-based leave-in conditioner when moisturizing your hair. Add moisturizer to your hair when you feel it is needed. Try creating a routine as to when you will moisturize your hair. You can also try spraying your hair with water everyday or night.
7) SUPPLEMENTS
Use supplements to fill gaps in your diet which might be the cause of your hair "not" growing. You may try omega 3 fish oil and/or biotin. Biotin is a well-known hair supplement that has aided in the healthy growth of a lot of people's hair. Biotin can strengthen your hair which means your hair will break a lot less. You will retain length and see growth.
8) LOW MANIPULATION

Stop combing your hair so often. The more you comb the more you break your hair. Try doing a style in your hair that will last for about a week like twist outs or up to a month like a sew-in.

How long your style last is up to how you maintain it. Not combing your hair often can allow your hair to retain length.
9) USE A WIDE TOOTH COMB
Using a wide tooth comb lessens the amount of breakage you get. You can use a fine tooth comb for clean parts but NOT for detangling. If you detangle with a fine tooth comb you will notice that a lot of hair is in the comb when you are finished detangling as compared to a wide tooth comb.
10) CREATE A ROUTINE
Creating a routine will allow your hair to have time to absorb products in a certain order which may have a great effect on the health of your hair. Try setting a day for washing your hair; for example; every three weeks. Do what works for your hair. Set aside days that you moisturize your hair and days that you deep condition. This means you will not miss any steps in caring for your hair.
